Day 01 – Matthew 6:5-8
Pray that the Church’s life reflects the good and perfect will of God.


Day 02 – Hebrews 4:14-16
Pray for Ramsay and The Manse Family as they serve God and this congregation of St. Luke’s.


Day 03 – Colossians 3:5-10
Pray for the church leadership team of Minister, Elders and Deacons


Day 04 – Revelation 22:1-5
Pray for the youth of our church – their protection, their homes, parents and guardians.


Day 05 – Philippians 3:7-11
Pray for those who are unwell: for those who are unable to go out and who have limited access to fellowship with God’s people: And that they will know God’s loving care and strength.


Day 06 – 1 Thessalonians 2:17-20
Pray for the choir and musicians who minister to us in ways that lift our hearts and souls in worship and praise.


Day 07 – Ephesians 6:10-20
Pray for those who lead the organisations with whom we have strong links – Girl Guides, Brownies, Boys Brigade, Sunday Club, Quest and Epic.


Day 08 – Romans 6:19-22
Pray for Revd. Dr. Martin Fair the newly elected Moderator Designate of the General Assembly 2020.


Day 09 – Ruth 2:8-12

Remember in prayer that Mission is at the very heart of God’s church and that it is everyone’s responsibility to share the great news of the Gospel where appropriate with those whom they meet.


Day 10 - John 15:9-13
Pray on this special day when we remember all who fought in both World Wars and all other conflicts before or after these two major battles to the present day.


Day 11 – 1 Samuel 10:1
Pray for the present Moderator Very Revd. Colin Sinclair as he continues his work visiting Presbyteries and representing the Church elsewhere.


Day 12 – John 17
Pray that as a Congregation will understand the importance of prayer.


Day 13 – 1 Thessalonians 5:4-11
Pray for the ministry of all our neighbouring churches: bless their witness along with ours as we reach out to this community in Milngavie.


Day 14 – 2 Corinthians 1:3-11
Spend time praising God for all that we have and for all that he has given to us.


Day 15 – John 14:5-14
There may be some in our fellowship who are suffering in silence. Pray that they will be able to find comfort and help in knowing Jesus is with them.


Day 16 – Psalm 6:1-10
Pray for those who are seeking an answer to the call of God to serve in Mission in the local area or further afield.


Day 17 – Hebrews 10:19-25
Friendship House needs our support. Pray for more helpers to allow this work of outreach in the community.


Day 18 – Matthew 16:21-28

Pray for those who doubt the gospel: for those who have intellectual hang-ups: for those who struggle to understand their faith.


Day 19 – Hebrews 11: 1-11
Pray for the many people who are already preparing and thinking about Scripture Union in Camps, Missions and Holiday Clubs. Pray for those in Church of Scotland Seaside Missions for 2020.


Day 20 – James 5:13-16
Pray for the work of Scripture Union groups in schools. We remember the schools in our own area.


Day 21 – John 14:5-14
Pray for those who are seeking God’s guidance as they search for the truth that they may find the way to God and a new life in Christ. We remember Alex McCallum and his family as he studies for ministry


Day 22 – Matthew 28:16-20
Pray for wisdom to find the right approach to reach out to our Parish.


Day 23 - 1 Peter 1:2
Pray for the missionaries who serve God all over the world including the work of Lorna Ferguson in Japan. Remember her visit to us next year.


Day 24 - Jude verse 1
Mark MullerHis future role in working with the Chinese community in Manchester.


Day 25 - Matthew 26:36
Pray for Stewart McAra and his work in the Leprosy mission.


Day 26 - 2 Corinthians 1:3-7
Pray for the work of the Street Pastors in many parts of the country on Friday and Saturday nights.


Day 27 - 1 Corinthians 2:5
Pray for the Preshal Trust, Mary’s Meals and Glasgow City Mission. God makes a difference in the lives of others through these organisations.


Day 28 - Mark 13:24-37

We pray for all who are involved in preparing events in churches and schools as we approach the season of Advent.


Day 29 - Hebrews 1:2
Give thanks that God sent His Son to be our Saviour and remember each day that He died for us.


Day 30 – Ephesians 3:17
Pray for those who are suffering in this world because of violence, persecution and poor living conditions because they are refugees.




As we approach the season of Advent pray for those for whom it will different for a variety of reasons.


O Lord, I pray

That for this day

I may not swerve

By foot or hand

From thy command

Not to be served, but to serve.


And if I may,

I’d have this day Strength from above

To set my heart

In heavenly art

Not be loved, but to love.
